Communication Team Member Sensitizing the Public

A week-long sensitization on Small Claims Procedure targeting the Central Uganda areas of Lugazi, Wakiso and Kajjansi Court areas took off.

The exercise that started this morning with the engagement of Court users at the Lugazi Magistrates Court, is part of the ongoing roll-out of the quick and simple procedure targeting civil claims below Shs 10 million. 

A team from the Communications Office, that is facilitating the sensitization, engages the public in Lugazi town center and other areas such as Najjembe, Sagazi, Bulyatente, Kawuku and Namengo, where they also pinned up posters and informational leaflets on Small Claims Procedure as well as other Court information.

The public expressed delight to the quick access to justice system that empowers low-income earners. Mr. Paul Kakande, a teacher, said such innovations need to be rolled out quickly if impact is to be felt. 

It was emphasized that parties need to make agreements whenever transactions are made.
